Calculators About

Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 5, 2026

BasisCalc is a free utility website. We don't require accounts, we don't ask for personal information to use the calculators, and we don't sell user data. This page explains the data practices that do apply — primarily because of the advertising and analytics services we use.

1. Information we collect

Information you provide: If you contact us via the email address on our Contact page, we receive whatever you write to us. We use it only to respond.

Information collected automatically: When you visit BasisCalc, our hosting provider and CDN may log standard request data: IP address, user agent (browser), referring page, and timestamp. This is industry-standard server-log information.

Calculator inputs: The numbers you type into our calculators are processed entirely in your browser. We do not transmit, log, or store them.

2. Cookies and similar technologies

BasisCalc uses cookies and similar technologies in two ways:

  • Essential / functional: We store your dark-mode preference in your browser's local storage so the site remembers it across visits. This data never leaves your device.
  • Analytics and advertising: We use third-party services (described below) that set their own cookies for analytics and personalized advertising.

3. Third-party services

We use the following third parties. Each has its own privacy policy, which we encourage you to read:

  • Google AdSense — serves advertisements on this site. Google and its partners use cookies to serve ads based on prior visits to BasisCalc and other sites on the internet. You can opt out of personalized advertising at Google Ads Settings or aboutads.info. See the Google Ads policies for details.
  • Google Analytics — measures traffic and usage in aggregate. Google's policy is at policies.google.com/privacy.
  • Google Fonts — serves the typefaces used on this site. Font requests log your IP address per Google's font privacy policy.

4. Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have legal rights regarding your personal data — including the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict its use. Concretely on BasisCalc:

  • Cookies: You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The calculators will still work; the dark-mode preference simply won't persist.
  • Advertising: Use the opt-out links in section 3 to control personalized ads from Google.
  • EU/UK (GDPR) and California (CCPA) residents: The opt-out links above are the primary mechanism. If you have additional questions, email us via the Contact page.

5. Children

BasisCalc is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

6. Data security

The site is served over HTTPS. Because we don't collect personal accounts or store user-entered numbers, our security exposure is limited primarily to the hosting and CDN infrastructure provided by our hosting partners.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of the page reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be announced on the homepage.

8. Contact

Questions about this policy can be directed to the email address on the Contact page.
